Mac

See what happens along your audio signal path. Measurement Lab helps musicians, audio engineers and students explore Audio Unit effects and external hardware on a Mac. Adjust an EQ and watch its response change, compare two hardware paths, or run an experiment to investigate dynamics, distortion and transients. START WITH FREE RESPONSE MEASUREMENTS • Measure one hardware send/return path or one Audio Unit effect. • Explore magnitude, phase and group delay with impulse, periodic noise and logarithmic sweeps. • Inspect numerical readings, change graph limits and zoom into detail. • Save and recall interface calibration profiles for each device, route and sample rate, with import and export. • Export individual graphs as PNG images. • Follow built-in Help and worked tutorials that explain how to run and interpret experiments. UNLOCK MORE WITH MEASUREMENT LAB PRO An optional one-time in-app purchase adds: • Two simultaneous hardware paths: send the same stimulus to both, overlay the returns and inspect A/B differences. • Serial Audio Unit insert chains with individual bypass and floating editors. • Dynamics experiments for level transfer and attack/release behaviour. • Harmonics, THD, THD+N and two-tone intermodulation analysis. • Transient response, rise/fall time, overshoot, settling and digital-slope measurements. • Individual PDF graphs and complete PNG/PDF analysis reports. Free and Pro use the same measurement precision and supported quality settings. Pro has no recurring subscription. The purchase sheet displays the current price for your region, with Restore Purchases available for existing ownership. MEASURE, LEARN AND COMPARE Use impulse or periodic noise for continuous Response updates, or capture a logarithmic sweep and inspect its impulse response. Compare readings alongside the plots, and export figures with measurement conditions. Audio Unit measurements run offline without sending a test signal to speakers. Hardware measurements use your explicitly selected interface channels. Measurement results are kept during the current app session. Exported graphs and reports are figures, not reloadable measurement sessions. Calibration profiles are saved locally. REQUIREMENTS An Apple silicon Mac running macOS 27.0 or later. English interface and Help. Hardware analysis requires a compatible full-duplex audio interface, suitable cables and available send/return channels. Input and output use the same device. Audio Unit hosting supports compatible sandbox-safe effects with one input and one output bus; device, driver and plug-in compatibility varies. VST3 hosting and a DAW companion plug-in are not included. Measurements describe the complete signal path, including interface and source limitations. They do not establish calibrated voltage, sound-pressure level or an external device’s intrinsic slew rate.
