Bakery Director is a cheerful bakery tycoon you play offline. Fill the ovens in the morning, serve the rush at the counter, close up and count the till. Every day you choose what to bake, how much to charge and where to spend the profit.
BAKE TO THE FORECAST
Every morning the kitchen shows what the customers will want. Bake too little and you sell out by lunch. Bake too much and it goes stale. Run up to four ovens, and hire a baker for each one who bakes on their own, lean or with plenty to spare.
23 RECIPES
Croissants, baguettes and sourdough, cookies, muffins, scones and cinnamon rolls, donuts, bagels, macarons and éclairs, cherry pie and whole layer cakes. Seven cakes sell by the slice, from Victoria sponge to Black Forest gâteau, or whole to customers who want a birthday cake.
SERVE THE RUSH
Tap customers before their patience runs out. Some take away, some sit down and stay for coffee. Hire up to four servers to serve the queue for you. Add a pastry chef, a greeter and a marketer when you can afford them.
CAKE ORDERS
Birthdays, weddings and office parties order cakes days ahead. Accept the ones you can bake, deliver on time, and earn a big payday.
GROW THE SHOP
Four shop sizes from Small to Grand, up to twelve tables, four furniture tiers, a bigger display case and two coffee machines. Pick from four shopfronts and four interiors, from Candy Stripe to Brooklyn Brick. Rent, wages and cleaning all come out of the till, so every upgrade has to earn its keep.
BORROW TO GROW
Four lenders, from a friendly credit union to a loan shark at thirty per cent. Borrow to expand early, and pay it back before it eats your profits.
LEVEL UP
Every sale earns experience. Level up to unlock new recipes, staff, ovens, shop sizes and better parts of town. Three goals at a time give you something to aim for every day.
THE BAKE-OFF
Every three days the city's best bakers face the judges. Choose your bake, nail three rounds of perfect timing, and take home the prize money.
BUILD AN EMPIRE
Move up from a side street to the smartest address in town, open branches that earn while you bake, and buy out the rival bakeries one by one. Sunny weekends, rainy days, school fairs and festivals change what sells.
THREE CITIES
Start in London, which loves sponge cake, pies and scones. New York, mad for cheesecake, bagels and donuts, and Paris, where croissants and macarons rule, are optional purchases. Each has its own map, rivals, currency and Bake-Off.
THE TEST KITCHEN (OPTIONAL PURCHASE)
Rework any recipe with one of thirteen flavours, from lemon to chestnut. Run trials for a few days and find out if you've made a flop or a hit. Hits sell for up to 45% more.
