Wordwise teaches five useful words a day, and every word is spoken. You hear it, say it out loud, and use it in a sentence of your own, so new words end up in your conversations, not just in a list.
HEAR IT
• Every word is broken into syllables, with the stressed one marked
• IPA pronunciation in US or UK English
• Play at normal speed or slowed down
• Pick the voice that reads to you, including Enhanced and Premium voices
SAY IT
• Tap the mic and say the word. Wordwise listens and tells you whether it heard it clearly
• Missed it? Hear it slowly, then try again
• Sound by sound: see where your tongue, lips and teeth go for each sound in the word
USE IT
• Say a sentence with your new word. Apple Intelligence checks the meaning on your iPhone and suggests one fix
• Your sentences are saved, so you can see how you use your words
KNOWN MEANS KNOWN
A word only counts as Known after three weeks of spaced reviews, saying it clearly from memory, and using it in your own sentence. Miss a review and it comes back the next day. No shortcuts, so your progress is real.

Plus is available as a yearly subscription with a 7-day free trial, or monthly. Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel in your Apple Account settings.
