Should you go out tonight to see the northern lights – and where should you look? Noctilume combines space weather, cloud cover, darkness and the moon into one clear answer: Good, Maybe or No, with the best time and a short reason. Most aurora apps are built for the Arctic and say 0 % while the sky glows over Denmark. Noctilume adjusts to where you are, so the answer makes sense at mid latitudes too. Your exact location stays on your phone; only an area rounded to about 10 km is used to get the cloud forecast. DATA Space weather: NOAA Space Weather Prediction Center. Cloud cover: DMI (Danish Meteorological Institute) in Denmark and MET Norway elsewhere, both under CC BY 4.0. The forecast is new and is being tuned during the 2026/27 season. After a night out, the app asks whether you saw aurora. Your answers stay on your phone as your own log.
