MyMurmur is for catching ideas. They show up on a walk, in the shower, half asleep — typing is too slow, and by the time you find your notes app they're gone.
Tap the dot and start talking. Your words land on the page one by one, like a typewriter: pencil grey while they're still uncertain, ink once they're settled. When you're done, tear off the sheet and keep it as a little note to sort out later.
• One press of the Action Button: set it to MyMurmur's Record in Settings and there's no app to find — press to start, press again to save. The big dot on the home screen works too, or tell Siri “Record with MyMurmur”
• Text as you speak: the iPhone's own speech recognition, done on the phone — works offline
• The original audio stays: drag the waveform to listen back, ±15 seconds, 0.75–2× speed, with the text following along
• Your own models (optional): have AssemblyAI, ElevenLabs or any Whisper-compatible service (Groq, your own Whisper server…) transcribe it again afterwards, saved as a new version without replacing the first; long notes' key points can come from your own model too. Keys stay on this phone
• Key points on their own: for longer notes, Apple Intelligence on the phone writes a few key points, nothing uploaded; where it isn't available, the most important sentences are picked from what you said
• Safe from interruptions: the recording is written to the phone as you go and comes back even if the app is closed
• Sorted by project: everything lands in the Inbox first, then moves into projects; swipe to delete, copy or move, or select several at once
• Typing and photos too: when you can't talk, write a note and add the photos you take
• Watch yourself think: day streaks and a weekly heat map
• Your notes are your own files: every note is mirrored as Markdown and audio in iCloud Drive, readable on your Mac and ready for your own tools; push them to your own GitHub repository too; and back up daily, ready to restore in full any day
• AI helps sort: turn on AI Collaboration and assistants on your computer like Claude Code or Kimi Code can read your notes and hear the recordings, transcribe and tidy them, and add notes and projects to your phone; with GitHub connected, cloud AI can read the text and add things too. Deleting and changing the original text only happen on the phone
• A paper notebook by day, dark pages at night; five accent colors, vermilion by default

Pin projects: long-press one in the drawer. Moving a note now tells you where it went. When a transcription service fails, you see its own reason, like billing not set up or not available in your region. If the second transcription doesn’t come through, the note says so and one tap tries again; one cut off by a locked screen picks up next time you open the app. And when the Action Button sometimes opened a recording with no sound, the microphone now restarts by itself.
