Aşçı (Turkish for “cook”): Chasing the Dream is the story of a young cook fresh out of culinary school. A boss who runs everything past his calculator, an Usta of few words, a waiter with a nickname for everyone, and regulars who order “the usual” every single day... In the kitchen and at the table, the call is yours. And the dream is big: one day, a restaurant of your own.
EVERY CHOICE COMES BACK
Every event gives you three options. Say yes to the boss, or draw a line? Take the extra shift, or save your energy? The people around you remember what you chose; a promise made today can come back days later in a conversation.
A REAL KITCHEN
Knead the köfte, flip it at just the right moment, plate it with pilaf. Fold the mantı, cook the menemen, season the soup, cut the sea bass, pour the soufflé. Tap, drag and time your moves across the prep, stove and plating stations. Did the customer ask for it well done, or go easy on the salt? Read the ticket and send the plate out just right. Burn a plate and you get one restart; a single mistake never ruins your day.
FIVE KITCHENS, ONE CAREER
From a neighborhood diner to a long-running family restaurant, from a hotel kitchen full of celebrity guests to a starred chef's restaurant. Every stop has its own crew, menu and story, and everything you earn (money, mastery, reputation and friendships) comes with you. In the starred kitchen you create a signature plate and give it your own name. At the end of the road, you decide what the sign above the door says.
