Alfil Chess is a mobile chess game with an opponent that plays like a person at your level, not like a relentless machine.
AN OPPONENT THAT PLAYS LIKE A PERSON
The opponent uses Maia-2, an artificial intelligence model from the University of Toronto trained on games played by real people. Instead of always searching for the perfect move, it tries to play the way a person of its level would. It runs on your device: against the AI you need no connection and no account.
THREE LEVELS
• Apprentice: reference 1000.
• Amateur: reference 1300.
• Club: reference 1600.
These figures are a reference from the model, not an official rating.
HOW YOU PLAY
• Against the AI, as White, as Black or with a random colour.
• With a friend by correspondence (optional, needs internet).
• Two players on the same phone.
• Wooden board in 3D or in 2D; switch views whenever you like.
• Undo a move and flip the board.
• Highlights for the last move and for the legal moves.
• Full rules: castling, en passant, promotion, checkmate and draws (stalemate, insufficient material, the 50-move rule and threefold repetition).
• Your game saves itself and you can continue it later.
• Available in English and Spanish.
WITH FRIENDS, AT YOUR PACE
Invite a friend with one tap: the app creates a code and you share it wherever you like. Each of you plays when you can, like correspondence chess, and the moves arrive on their own the next time the app is opened. You can have several games at once. It is optional: against the AI and with two players on one phone the internet is not used.
PRIVATE AND QUIET
Free, with no ads, no in-app purchases, no accounts and no analytics. Against the AI everything happens on your phone. Games with friends use public servers that can see your IP address and the moves (unencrypted); there are no accounts and no other data.
