Tacklio is a plain-text sticky notes app for Mac. Paste from a web page or a document with a normal ⌘V, and only the text goes in, without fonts, colors or images.
- COPY AND PASTE WITHOUT DRAGGING THE FORMATTING ALONG
Copy text from a web page, an email or a document, and most apps bring along its font, size, color and background. In Tacklio, a normal ⌘V pastes the text and nothing else, so there is no need to reach for Paste and Match Style. Text you drag in works the same way.
Every note is the same cream color, and a calm dark color in Dark Mode. Press ⌘F to find words inside a note.
- KEEP NOTES FLOATING ABOVE OTHER APPS
Turn on the pin at the top right of a note (⌥⌘T), and your notes stay in front even while you use other apps. Glance at a phone number or a list of steps while you browse or write.
- UP TO 9 NOTES AS TABS. SPREAD THEM OUT TO COMPARE
Press ⌘T to add a note as a new tab, and ⌘1–⌘9 to jump between tabs. Press ⇧⌘\ to spread every tab into its own note, and press it again to gather them back into one, at the same position and size and in the same order.
- FIND CLOSED NOTES BY THEIR TEXT AND BRING THEM BACK
Closing a tab does not delete the note. It goes to History (⌘Y), grouped by the day you closed it, where you can search the full text of every note. Press ⇧⌘T to bring back the tab you just closed.
- GO BACK TO EARLIER TEXT, OR TO A DELETED NOTE
When you edit a note, the text before your edit is kept as a version (up to the 20 most recent per note). View, copy or restore an earlier version. Deleted notes can be restored for 30 days.
- SEE EVERY SHORTCUT, AND MAKE THEM YOURS
The Shortcuts tab in Settings lists every key you can use. Click a key box and press new keys to reassign it. Tacklio tells you right away if a key clashes with macOS or with typing.
- YOUR NOTES GO NOWHERE
Tacklio does not connect to the internet, and it contains no analytics or advertising. Notes are saved only in this app's own space on your Mac. They are saved automatically every time you edit them, and a backup is made each time Tacklio opens.
