BUILD A FRANCHISE Pick one of 32 teams. Re-sign your stars or let them walk, bid in free agency against 31 front offices, scout college prospects and run your own draft board. Rookies grow, veterans fade, and the salary cap never stops counting. HIRE A STAFF Head coaches, coordinators and position coaches each have ratings, schemes, personalities and contracts. Some build around the players you have; some need a roster built for them. Good assistants grow into coordinators and head coaches, and the best candidates won't take a bad job. CALL THE GAME, OR WATCH IT Every snap is a real call: personnel, formation, concept and coverage. Write a call sheet for third and long and the red zone, coach a game snap by snap, or let your staff call it and watch. Quarterbacks read the defense and check out of bad plays. Results by concept show what's working. A LEAGUE THAT REMEMBERS Weekly power rankings and league news, awards, All-Pro teams, a Hall of Fame with real voting, a Ring of Honor, career milestones and records. Owners have personalities, families and opinions about you; when they die, the team passes to heirs with their own ideas, and sometimes a new name. PLAYERS WITH PERSONALITY Greedy veterans, loyal lifers, captains and locker-room problems. Badges are earned and lost. Chemistry matters.
