Hearby: Voices Nearby
Voice notes pinned to places
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Leave a voice at a spot on the map. When someone walks by with earphones in, a soft chime plays and your message follows. No account needed.
Hearby pins voices to places. Pick a spot on the map, write a line or record your own voice, and it stays there as a sound memory. When someone walks into that spot (about a 40 m radius) with earphones in, a soft chime plays and your message follows — automatically.
Made for
• Leaving a word on the trail, the beach or the corner café for whoever comes next
• Walking an unfamiliar neighbourhood and hearing what people left there
• Friends and family trading voice notes that only open at one particular place
Leaving a memory
• Tap "Leave here" or long-press any point on the map to choose the spot
• Type up to 200 characters and pick one of two voices (Sohee or Minjun) to read it
• Add an ambience — café, street, seaside, forest, rainy day, festival — and a matching background sound is mixed in
• Or record your own voice, up to 60 seconds
Listening
• Turn on Listen mode with the headphone button and just walk
• Within 40 m of a memory: chime, then playback. Works with the screen off or the phone in your pocket
• Or tap any marker on the map to play it right away. Memories within 5 km are shown
• The same memory will not replay for 6 hours
Built to feel safe
• No sign-up, no login. We never ask for your name or email
• Location is used only while the app is in use; the server stores only the coordinates of the spots you choose for a post
• Every memory has a report button; memories with repeated reports are hidden automatically. You can block people
• Delete everything you have posted at any time from Settings
Memories are public and can be heard by anyone. Free, no ads, no in-app purchases.
The interface is currently in Korean, and the two synthesized voices read Korean text.
