Free, Powerful, Stable and Indispensable

Similar to many other commenters here, I have been using the Mac desktop version of OLB for many years to write Bible commentaries, to compile topical KJV Bible verse lists, to share verses on my blog, and to include verses in my social network comments.I was so happy to discover an iOS version of OLB some time ago. Now, when I am too tired to work at my computer, I can lay in bed with my iPhone, and still share God’s Word with my online friends.Similar to the desktop version, this app is very stable, and is an indispensable part of my daily work flow. Thank you for all your hard work over the years, beginning with Ken Hamel.

I love this because it is on my phone, and my phone is with me 24/7. When I have a thought about scripture, I can look it up and read it anywhere anytime. My memory is hard to pull-up scripture from my memory now, but with it on my phone , it’s easy to pull it up and read or quote it if I am witnessing at the time! It is Great! I am not preaching now because I am caring for my wife who has Alzheimer’s and demands my attention so much I am now unable to study and prepare messages. But it’s a great comfort having God’s Word present with me at all times!

I love this because it is on my phone, and my phone is with me 24/7. When I have a thought about scripture, I can look it up and read it anywhere anytime. My memory is hard to pull-up scripture from my memory now, but with it on my phone , it’s easy to pull it up and read or quote it if I am witnessing at the time! It is Great! I am not preaching now because I am caring for my wife who has Alzheimer’s and demands my attention so much I am now unable to study and prepare messages. But it’s a great comfort having God’s Word present with me at all times!

I use this bible app all the time, especially when looking for a specific verse. It’s much easier to use than pulling out a strong’s concordance. There are a few things I wish were different: 1. I wish you could swipe left and right and it would go to the previous or next chapter. 2. I wish when you go back to the index that you would still be in whatever chapter you were in and you could click back to chapters and back to books, or have a refresh button to get to the main index page of the books. 3. I wish the search was a little less literal. For example, if I was looking for Proverbs 3:6 and I typed “In all thy ways acknowledge Him,” I will get no search results if it literally said “In all of thy ways acknowledge Him,”

I have been using The Online Bible almost since its beginning. Mr. Larry Pearce and his staff have been committed to keep everything updated, adding modules, and devices as technology improved. The Cross Country Store folks have been very easy to deal with as well, not that I have needed to that often, but a couple times I forgot my password and account purchases, and they readily restored those settings. I do have other study apps, but this is my main go-to app when I really need to know something and in a hurry.
