This app has been updated by Apple to prepare for watchOS 27 compatibility. No new features are included. New story creator features: scene copying and multiple identical items! - Make a copy of the current scene: All items except for text will be included in a new scene added after the current one. - When selecting artwork for your scenes, you may choose to add more than one of any item. Continue tapping on the item to add more copies of it. The bar at the bottom will indicate how many of each item you're adding. This version addresses the issues with crashing in the Story Creator in two ways. First, it reduces the frequency of crashing. Second, it introduces crash recovery: If tapStory crashes while you are editing a story, your unsaved changes will not be lost. There were also a few other minor bug fixes.

You can now purchase all 8 additional stories at a discounted bundle price. Enjoy all these beautiful creations for reading and add tons more illustrations to your library for your own story making! Several bugs have been addressed to further improve stability.

Improved stability of the app.

Art Packs! There are lots of new illustrations available to use for free in your own stories. Choose from kids, cute animals and treehouse scenery. You can also find more art packs for sale within the app. The interface has been simplified in many ways, including an easier gesture for the pop-up menu, less intrusive tutorial hints, better overall gesture recognition, and easier handling of very small items. The editor now defaults to a much simpler interface without the top-right Apron. It also adds the capability to set the background color for a scene. Pea and Carrot has been edited to have a funnier joke. :-D Unfortunately this means that users who are upgrading from previous versions will lose their existing recordings for that story. Sorry about that! :-( There are numerous bug fixes, and the app takes less memory and performs better when browsing large libraries of illustrations in the editor.

tapStory has a brand new colorful, kid-friendly interface! The app is much easier to navigate for purchasing stories and creating your own. Editing text in the Story Creator is much easier. Adding new characters to a story is easier. Creating unlimited stories is a feature unlocked by an in-app purchase (you get to create one story for free). Those customers who downloaded the app prior to version 2.5 have this feature unlocked for free.

All new: the tapStory Remix Editor! Use the Remix Editor to create your own interactive stories. You can use art from any of the stories you've purchased in the app and then add your own text. Create fan fiction by inventing brand new adventures for favorite characters; make mash-ups that combine characters and settings from multiple stories; or take an existing story but change the ending. The Remix Editor adds a whole new level of creativity to the most creative reading app out there. Once you've created a remix, you can use it just like any other story in the app: read aloud and animate the characters, then save your recording to play it back later. Also new: an interactive prompting system that teaches you how to use tapStory as you explore the app. No instructional videos or wordy web pages needed—just open the app and it will guide you through its features without getting in your way.

- Added compatibility with iOS 8. - The tutorial is easier to use. - Tagging recordings with video can be disabled. If you're a teacher and find your students are getting distracted by the video recording feature, use the Settings screen to disable it.

Scenes remember their configurations. When the user navigates back to a scene they have already visited and modified, it will reappear as they left it. Recording and playback controls have been updated: - Button text has been replaced with icons. - Playback can be paused. - A Scene Reset button has been added to restore a scene to its original appearance. Parents can disable automatic recording when stories are read. This may be done through a universal settings screen, or within the story interface. There is now a recording indicator in the top left of the screen when recording is active. When a story is first opened, there is a small popup note indicating whether it is being automatically recorded. After thirty seconds of inactivity, recording will be stopped. If automatic recording is disabled, a scene can be explicitly recorded by using the record button. Recordings may be optionally played back with only audio. If the user plays back only the audio of a recording, they may interact with the items in the story while the audio plays. During playback of a story recording, the user may advance or go back scenes. The tutorial is easier to use and can be exited at any time.

tapStory is now officially For Kids! It includes a new parental security feature to prevent accidental in-app purchases. This version also adds some helpful home screen tutorials for browsing already-saved recordings and accessing the Story Shop. It also fixes some minor bugs.
