I was crying and frustrated today that I couldn’t teach my 12 year old to read like I did my other children. I was Feeling like an absolute failure and lost that I couldn’t figure out the issue. Taking this quiz with my son just out of curiosity and reading the results helped me understand clearly what his reading struggles are. Knowing that there is a place available for him to learn the skills required to read and a place for me to ask for help and direction on how to move forward to help him and that the program has monitored programs helps me feel peace that my sons situation isn’t a lost cause. Thank you for your kind words and encouragement and how gentle you were with me and my son while encouraging to not ignore his reading problems.

I found the non word decoding very challenging. My son struggles to read and I had him take the assessment also to compare. I feel it truly rested his ability to decode vs just test his knowledge of sight words. I’ve read that it is very important in helping dyslexics improve their fluency.
