*Chime SpotMe is an optional, no fee service that requires a single deposit of $200 or more in qualifying direct deposits to the Chime Checking Account each month. All qualifying members will be allowed to overdraw their account up to $20 on debit card purchases and cash withdrawals initially, but may be later eligible for a higher limit of up to $200 or more based on member's Chime Account history, direct deposit frequency and amount, spending activity and other risk-based factors. Your limit will be displayed to you within the Chime mobile app. You will receive notice of any changes to your limit. Your limit may change at any time, at Chime's discretion. Although there are no overdraft fees, there may be out-of-network or third party fees associated with ATM transactions. SpotMe won't cover non-debit card transactions, including ACH transfers, Pay Anyone transfers, or Chime Checkbook transactions. See Terms and Conditions. Only SpotMe eligible members may send boosts.
‡Out-of-network ATM withdrawal fees may apply except at MoneyPass ATMs in a 7-Eleven, or any Allpoint or Visa Plus Alliance ATM.
^Early access to direct deposit funds depends on the timing of the submission of the payment file from the payer. We generally make these funds available on the day the payment file is received, which may be up to 2 days earlier than the scheduled payment date.

Ah, the humble bay leaf. Collecting dust in the back of everyone’s spice cabinet. We don’t know what it does, or what it tastes like, but we know that soup wouldn’t be soup without it. Well, you could say this app update is like a bay leaf. Quietly making everything better without you even noticing. So if you like to follow a recipe, you’re gonna want to update the app. And if you’re more of a recipe improviser, you should update the app too. Because no one likes bugs in their soup. Or their app.
Ratings and Reviews
Love Chime…only one problem
I can honestly say I really enjoy the service that chime has given me since I’ve started. Everything about Chime is exactly what I was looking for, especially the zero anxiety of dealing with someone face-to-face. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with going into a bank and handling business, but I’m a very simple individual and I don’t need all of that. This is were I believe Chime excels through their app in so many ways. Now the only problem that I have is being charged a fee when depositing my cash at the selected locations available for Chime customers. Before all this I used to go to Walgreens do my deposit at the register, and there was no fee whatsoever for doing so. Somewhere along the line that had to stop and ever since then I’ve had to pay at the locations that I go to between CVS and Walgreens a fee of $4.95. This is an entire issue to me especially when I’m depositing for example $60 and before you know it I’m actually depositing $60 but I have to shell out an additional $5 dollars just to pay for the fee for depositing my money into Chime. Total robbery! Moving forward I hope one day chime can change this because you guys are awesome, I love you guys, and I am going to continue on this wonderful service that you have provided for me from now and it the future and so on and so forth 😂
A good and simple banking service
Chime is just what you would expect out of a bank. You can open a checking and savings account just as you would with any other banking service. One of the main things that stand out to me over other banks is their app UI, it’s very simple and clean, making it easy to find what your looking for. I absolutely hate that most bank apps have so much stuff on their UI that you can forget where things are. Chime keeps everything neat by keeping what’s important easy to see and the rest of it under the settings. The SpotMe feature kind of feels like a gimmick. I thought it was cool at first but the main problem with it is that they are turning overwithdrawals into a “I got your back” feature; almost as if they are encouraging it. The only difference with the SpotMe feature is that you will not be charged a fee for doing so. I personally think it’s a bad idea because this feature can encourage bad financial decisions, especially because they offer boosts that increases the amount you can overwithdraw. It’s a nice feature to have when your struggling but it shouldn’t be encouraged. Also, one of the downsides to it is that you can only use the SpotMe for online purchases but not for paying bills which begs the question, “is this really to help you or is it to encourage spending over your balance for things you want?”. Aside from this feature it’s a pretty good making service.
Simple & hassle free! No overdraft fees!!!
I’ve been using Chime for a little over a year now & I absolutely love it! I love the convenience of being able to manage all my accounts from my phone, & the app is very user friendly & simple to navigate. One of the biggest reasons I’ve heard others say they are reluctant to use Chime is not being able to go into a physical bank location if they have a problem with their account. However every time I have had questions or issues & used the chat feature, my problems were resolved right away! I also love that there are NO OVERDRAFT FEES & you get a REAL TIME BALANCE!!! The reason I left my previous bank for Chime is because they were very slow to post transactions; so I’d check my balance & think I had enough to to pay a large bill only to find out days later that I did not have enough money & then get hit with a $30 overdraft fee EVERY SINGLE DAY MY ACCOUNT WAS NEGATIVE. With Chime, you can see your pending charges, & they will even spot you up to a certain amount until your next pay day if you accidentally overdraw your account! If you do accidentally overdraw & don’t have enough funds available in Spot Me credit, they just decline the transaction instead of hitting you with overdraft fees. All banks need to do that in my opinion! I highly recommend banking with Chime!
