Description

I know the countries - or maybe not all of them? Where do I find Bosnia-Herzegovina? And what is the Capital of Ivory Coast?
Explore the world in a playful way - click a country with your mouse or touchpad, see the flag, and listen to the country and capital name. Or select from the country table, where you can find all countries quickly by flag and name.
Now turn it around: In game mode, find countries for each continent, or for the whole world. Listen to a country name first, then click it - do you find each country?
In Game Center you can view your achievements, and also the time you took to find all countries. Challenge your friends - who can do it faster?

In automatic mode countries are presented at random - you can learn by just watching and listening.

Tipp: Download the free premium voices for MAC/OSX for your language - available in settings OS/X settings (dictation and speech). The premium voices have professional quality and will improve your learning experience.

The app is completely based on Apple maps, including all details to zoom in. You will quickly learn to navigate the map and find countries and cities, and soon you will be able to say "I know countries!".

Nice detail in the maps, but not good as a map quiz

There were two problems with using the app to see if you can locate countries:
1. In order to be able to see small countries like Monaco or Luxembourg, you need to zoom in. But when you do, the map automatically shows the names of all of the countries!
2. When trying to identify a country by clicking on a small, surrounded country whose neighbors have already been guessed, the app will sometimes refuse to give you credit for clicking on the correct country. This isn’t a problem with big countries like Russia, China, etc. I don’t know why, but if I had to guess, I’d say that zooming in and then clicking on a country causes different mouse coordinates to be sent to the app than expected; I think the app demands that the mouse coordinates be for the UN-zoomed country area.

The app does seem to have very good map detail.
