I was forced to download this after finding that my PC (at home) saved one of my excel files as a .PFILE… (note: without asking me to confirm, it did this. Strike one, microsoft)After digging and finding this app and attempting to use it to open my file here, I found the app to be unusable. I have a solid internet connection and the app simply spins, without giving me any indication of what it’s doing. Now, I’m without my important files until I get back home to my PC. Very frustrating and damaging to my work. I will be switching to Open Office 100% of the time after this. Unacceptable.

Read the whitepaper. Our Information Protection admin was able to secure a document which I was able to open without an issue after installing this applet. The program itself doesn't seem to do anything except make the authentication connection to the Azure rights management system. Documents still open directly with the existing Office application and new documents have the option to use our org's defined security levels.Users who rate this low are likely not using the proper Office 365 Security license or don't know what the program is supposed to do.

I was directed to this app to open a protected email that was sent to me and when I open the RMS Sharing app and try to open the .rpmsg file I have in my downloads it's grayed out. May work for Office files, but doesn't appear to work for protected email

Does anyone remember when MS used to put out great software? This bit of mess doesn't work at all. It downloads and installs, but doesn't open any of the files it's designed to open. It just keeps resending you back to download the app again. Like 1998
