FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does World Time Widget have a home screen widget?
Yes. There are widgets for every Apple surface: home screen, lock screen, StandBy mode, and Apple Watch. You can show up to 8 time zones on a single large widget, so everything you need is one glance away.
Can I use custom labels instead of city names?
Yes. You can name any clock whatever makes sense to you. “Mum in Sydney” tells you at a glance whether it’s safe to call. “Dev team in Berlin” tells you whether they’re in the office. Your clocks, your labels.
Does it work on Apple Watch?
Yes. There’s a dedicated Apple Watch app plus support for multiple complications, so your world clocks are always on your wrist.
Can I convert time zones and schedule meetings?
Yes. The built-in meeting planner lets you drag across the day to find a time that works for everyone, across as many time zones as you need. No mental arithmetic, no switching between apps.
How many cities can I add?
As many as you need. You can show up to 8 time zones at once on a large widget, and you can add more clocks to the app itself.
Does it handle daylight saving time automatically?
Yes. World Time Widget updates automatically for daylight saving changes worldwide, so your times are always accurate.
Does it work on iPad as well as iPhone?
Yes. World Time Widget works across iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Your clocks sync across all your devices via iCloud.
What makes it different from Apple’s Clock app?
Apple’s Clock app is useful, but limited. World Time Widget adds a day/night indicator for every clock so you can see at a glance who’s awake, lets you use personal labels instead of city names, and puts your world clocks on your home screen, lock screen, StandBy, and Apple Watch with far more flexibility. Apple Clock also caps out at 4 cities in a widget. World Time Widget shows up to 8.
Is there a free version?
World Time Widget is free to download with a premium upgrade available for additional features.
We checked out a number of apps in anticipation of crossing the dateline for a winter getaway, and World Clock came out the winner by a large marginAlthough we are thousands of km from home, we like to stay in touch with family, friends and neighbors who live in three other time zones. Add to that Zoom calls to North America, the UK and other European countries and keeping track of scheduling everything is a nightmare. Enter World Clock which conveniently installs as a widget on our devices and the problem disappears. We created a list of all the cities and time zones we need to reach from the extensive built in library, and can instantly see with a glance, both the time and the date for all of them. What really ups the usefulness of the app is the built in calculater in the paid version. Once you know the date, time and place for any meeting, you can input the data and the app translates the information for each city on your list to their local time and date. No more missed calls or meetings as we search the web trying to determine what time 7 pm Friday in the Netherlands is in Auckland NZ. (it's Saturday 7 am by the way) We are also pleased to report that a query to the developer met with a quick response and answer. You can even buy the app outright if subscriptions are not your thing. As we said in the title, if you travel and like to stay in touch with the rest of the world, do yourself a favor and pick up this handy utility. 5 stars.
Still Better Than Apple
TJ Rotten
I’ve used this app for several years as it lets me see time here, China, and India one one widget with a digital display. I wondered if Apple would release something similar with their fancy new iOS 14 widget. Um ... nope! They can show three time zones but with analog display only. Also, their app is horribly confusing. I dorked around with it for 10 minutes trying to understand how to get it to display what I wanted. I finally figured out how to show the triple zones in a widget but like I said, it does not have the digital display option I wanted. Also, by the time I figured all that out, was just plain irritated. This app has everything I wanted and I did not have to feel like a dork! Kudos to the dev team because this app is great.

Thanks TJ, means a lot to me! Lewis
Best multi-time zone app I’ve tried
Ashes On A Sandwich
I went through a few of time zone apps on the AppStore, and this is the one that stuck. The compact widget is the first item on my home screen, and allows me to see time zones for all the countries I work with, as well as my family’s time at a glance. The premium features for this app are well worth the extra money. It’s nice to customize the look of the widget, as well as be able to compare time zones in multiple locations for easy meeting scheduling. Developers are super responsive as well, and have helped me resolve a minor bug without delay.

Great app!

If you loved the analog world clocks that Apple used to include in iOS, and were disappointed when Apple eliminated them in a recent 10.x iOS upgrade, then this app is for you! Also, if you love nice, clean design and appreciate the beauty of proportional based fonts, not the ginormous, disproportionate fonts Apple now uses in its worldclocks and elsewhere in iOS, then you'll love this app even more. Easy to read, elegant design in both form and function. Well done app team! Thanks!P.S. if there's just one thing I could ask for you to add to the analog clocks, it would be to add a red second hand.

Thanks for leaving a review, so glad you like the app :) Seconds is a popular request, I'll get to it soon.
We fixed a bug where some people were losing their pro features. Sorry about that. Everything should stick now.
Outside the US, you'll now see “proper” timezone abbreviations like PST and EST instead of "UTC−8".
We also made some small cosmetic improvements in the main app.
And last but not least, widgets are a even more reliable in this update.
Thanks as always,
Lewis
