Hoping to Adopt, easy to use app
I love this app! It’s simple and easy. I’ve been searching for a good dog for years! two years ago I had a little dog named Joey that my mother gave me for Christmas, to my dismay I found out he was a result from puppy mills and passed from a sickness he had since he was a baby. Im making sure to never get dogs from mills. I’m glad I’ve found this app and now I’m hoping to adopt a dog named Tapatio, I’m in love with his little character! My family is thinking to adopt one of his siblings too. Thank you for making this app and looking for a dog easy!
Condescending
I can’t stand apps with condescending or manipulative content. Fortunately, if you like either, you don’t even need to sign in to get both!
On the front page, there’s an option to create an account or “skip.” “Skip” simply opens a pop-up with an explanation of why it’s “important to sign in” to “save your data from being lost.” Thanks, I learned that when I lost my first important essay in grade school to our malfunctioning computer. I think everyone using a computer knows it’s important to save. But I save things that are important to me. This app is just not important to me, because there are so many others like it.
I think my data is important to the developer, and it’s definitely important to adopt, not shop. I’ll just be using a different app for it, because I don’t want some developers with a freshman year’s grasp of manipulation tactics to have it.
Repeated list of search results
So far I love the app (we are searching for our first puppy or young dog after the holidays).
I’ve noticed that when I do a search, I get a listing of dogs in the order of distance. Great. But then when I scroll downward I noticed that the list of available dogs is repeated 3 times. Not a big deal but I wanted you to be aware. So if I’m searching within a 100 mile range of home, I’ll get to the last dog at 84 miles out, and then I see the first dog that appeared at the top of the list (2 miles from home). Then I scroll through that list again and it repeats for a 3rd time showing me the first dog that’s 2 miles away.
I’m on iPhone 8 Plus, fully updated at iOS v12.1.2 (I also noticed it was happening with v12.1.1).
