Medieval Lund

Discover the history

Free · Designed for iPad

Discover the medieval history of Lund with this practical and comprehensive app. Listen to Harald Bluetooth boasting that he was the one who founded Lund. Meet Queen Margareta, Donatus, the architect of the Cathedral, and many other interesting people connected to Lund. With the help of the map you can discover 20 different places and buildings from medieval Lund. You can either read the descriptions, which are beautifully illustrated, or listen to them while visiting the place yourself. The app also contains some explanatory texts about, for example, trade during the Middle Ages, and the relationship between the kings and the Catholic Church. The app was created as a joint teacher and student project at Katedralskolan in Lund in 2014–2015 and was updated with video films and explanatory texts in 2018–2025. Information about the participants and financiers is found in the app.
