Idaho 511 4+

Was excited to see what this new and improved app was all about. I went ahead and downloaded and created a new account. This process uses the website to generate the account and everything went well. When the account was set up, and all the email addresses and phone numbers were successfully verified, I tried to login using only the new app (the old app was completely removed).

The new app would just return “Login Failed”. I uninstalled and reinstalled it after a fresh reboot and the same problem occurred. I changed my password via the Forgot My Password feature on the app which again funneled me through the website to reset. Although the new password was successfully reset, I still cannot log in on the app.

I can log in without any issues on the website using the same credentials. It is quick and easy to load and navigate. I suppose one could simply use the web app to access these new features but then why bother with a new app?

App disappoints in almost every way. Although it can be useful for looking at traffic cameras along a chosen route, the route finding function and reporting functions are completely non functional. It will provide messages that there are issues along your chosen route, but when you try to determine what those issues are you are not given any information whatsoever, as in, no issues will even be displayed along your route, they are just ghost messages. You will then be provided these warnings daily for the next several weeks, even though you long ago completed your route. The only way to end them is to delete the app.

First of all, the log in, ridiculous. I don’t want another app to send me alerts or changes when any little thing happens. I don’t want to take the time to set up all the stuff when I just want to see what the roads look like. The weather stations on the app only give you air temp and relative humidity which is pretty much useless, on the website you get about 20 lines of data, and can see road temp, road friction, water state, etc. I am currently not using the app and am instead looking at 511 on my phones web browser. You need to bridge the gap if you want the app being used.
