Description
The Nevada 511 app provides near real-time highway and traffic information to drivers to help them safely plan their route. This includes information on construction, incidents, road closures, and weather alerts on roads across the state.
This app features a scrollable, zoomable map that displays:
• Traffic speeds
• Road Conditions
• Incidents and closures, such as collisions and other road hazards
• Cameras
• Construction
• Road Closures
• Weather alerts
• Weather Stations
• Weather Radar
• Rest Areas and Welcome Centers
The app also features audio alerts that notify drivers of incidents, construction, road closures, and other road events.
Ratings and Reviews
Video doesn’t work
App is useless for road camera video, they simply won’t load. You’ll get a still image and that’s it, if you get any image at all. You can get the same features on the web site version - at least some of that video works, but not all the time. Don’t rely on the app or the web version to be very reliable for road conditions video.
Not usable
Waypoint adding opens an additional window that is placed so its lower part with the “OK” button is cut off, making it impossible to set the waypoint.
Fortunately, the online version can be opened on a browser in the iPad and the additional waypoint can be typed in on that one. So downloading this app isn’t really necessary.
Paid too much
The State probably paid way too much for this app development. Videos don’t work most of the time, if at all. This isn’t dependable enough to rely on to be safe when traveling in winter conditions.
