Ratings and Reviews
I moved to iFinance from Quicken, haven't looked back
iFinance has lots of great features. The ones I use the most are downloading transactions from all my banks via OFX/QFX files, syncing my data to iCloud so that I can use iFinance on my iPad, iPhone & Watch, and setting up budgets to track my spending.
The only thing that's missing is multi-tasking support. I really wish that I could have iFinance on one side of the screen, and Safari on the other while I work on my finances.
I like to have lots of details about my finances and iFinance let's me do that. iFinance is especially strong in letting me manage cash, credit, savings, and checking accounts. You can track stocks and mutual funds, but there's currently no way for me to import stock data (the developers said they'd look into adding this feature). I also really appreciate that I can use iCloud to sync my financial data between my Mac, iPhone, Watch, and iPad. It lets me keep track of my finances no matter where I am. I also prefer to use iCloud since I have more control over my data, compared to other using other companies' cloud services.
Needs Direct Access
Great looking app, but doesn’t have direct access so requires a lot of work to get all of your accounts in one program. My TSP and Investment accounts don’t support the OFX format so i can only get one of my banks in here. This is a 5 Star app with that feature. I’d even be willing to pay for the access much like banktivity charges. I’d love to leave banktivity but really need the direct access feature
I have been using iFinance 4 on macOS and iOS for a couple of weeks and, so far, it has been the best money managing app I have ever used!
