Needs work

I’ll repeat some of the other comments — user settings should be available to toggle the clock between 24/12 hour mode, and the temperature between C and F. City lookup should include the state in the location (“Los Angeles, CA United States” instead of “Los Angeles United States”). Setting up the photos for the album feature displays a screen in Chinese (which I took to be “download your cloud photos to the iPad’s local storage”?) There should be a way to blank the screen when you don’t need the app UI visible, such as at night. Looking forward to more functionality in the app, possibly with audio or camera capabilities.

A good start, but could use some improvements

The quality of the frame hardware itself is fantastic. Even without their frame, the app could be useful, except it seems incomplete. First, adjusting any settings can’t be done on the iPad itself, but must be done from the phone. Minor inconvenience for most, but problematic for anyone that can’t run the iFramix app on their phone for whatever reason.

The app uses its own photos interface to manage photos. To add new photos, the app has to load all photos in your photo library first, which takes a long time on a device with a large library. If it used the newer library access interface in iOS where the app itself doesn’t get access to your photo library, but requests iOS load the sheet for the user to review and then only gets access to the photos they select at that time, larger libraries will load much faster and users won’t have to wait several minutes before seeing their photos. Aside from that, it’s a solid app and makes an old iPad better than a coaster. But it needs more features: access to calendars would be a great new feature to add, so it could serve as a family calendar station, as well. Looking forward to seeing updates.

Needs basic features

No temperature in Fahrenheit, and very difficult/impossible to find your city for weather with the system being used.
