Frustrating 50% of the time

When it works it is okay. The text still shimmers and does not seem to be as high res as it could be. I can live with it if it wasn’t for the other frustrations.

My main use case is working while in another room of my house. One issue is every so often immersed signs out on my computer. This requires me to take my whole setup off and go upstairs to log back in. That’s fine if it was a rare occurrence. It seems to happen every third use or so.

Sometimes it places the monitor below my floor and if I can get it to grab the bar it forces itself to tilt along an axis centered on the wrong point below the floor.

Most of the time moving the window is a comical exercise where it tilts too much or not enough. It feels like someone is pranking me. This when it isn’t trying to place the window below my floor.

Finally, there is no keyboard and mouse passthrough to the pc. Virtual Desktop does this on Quest 3. For now I am forced to go back to Quest 3 for all the reasons above.

I don’t understand why the developer had to make this an immersive app in unity. Why couldn’t this be a shared space app? I can’t help but think it might function better if it was.

Shimmering text + monitor limitations

I’ve been a fan of Immersed for a long time, and am even a backer of their upcoming Visor product, but they have really dropped the ball lately. The service no longer works if you have more than one physical monitor attached. There is no reason why a person should have to unplug or turn off monitors to make a Remote Desktop app work. They claim that they can’t be bothered to solve this “technical issue” that countless other products have managed to handle just fine and that this only impacts 5% of their users. Sorry, but your metrics need some work. Not everybody is using a laptop disconnected from everything else.

The worst part is the attitude from the company this isn’t an issue and that maybe the many people complaining about this issue should not be customers anymore.

That issue aside, the screens are distracting to work with due to the “shimmering” in the foveated parts of the display. Even in the focused areas, though, small text can be difficult to read. Placing screens is also a challenge since there is no option to snap to grid or use helpers to place the displays. Even the slightest turn of your wrist causes the display to quickly rotate horizontally and vertically. Lastly, the control to adjust the screen curvature doesn’t seem to be working reliably. Nothing I’ve done has let me actually target and move the slider.

I really hope Immersed lets go of some of their attitude and gets back to building a fantastic service.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your experience, Adam!

Continuing support for multiple physical monitors created complexities in advancing our screen management system. Tasks like enhancing "screen layout save/restore," maintaining persistent screen layouts, and other features became challenging while accommodating multiple physical monitors.

We understand that some users integrate Immersed alongside their existing multi-monitor setups. However, the decision to transition away from this architecture was made to enable us to evolve and develop a more efficient system.

Works great on meta headset not on apple

I use it daily, and with meta headset it works quite well, I would give it 4 stars. The see through windows tend to move around since turning off hand recognition does not work, it is supposed to work but I never got it working. It is quite stable, connects fast and I loved working with it. Then I made the mistake of selling my meta and buying Apple Vision Pro, and what a disappointment, very unstable, I have to try and connect 3-5 times before it works and if it doesn’t I have to force close the app and restart. It also lacks most of the cool features that is present in the meta version, I would give it 1 Star for the apple version, not even beta version
