Good, but potential for much more

This app is good but definitely feels very beta. They greeted out button at the end is really pointless - I don’t understand why they have a button just to tell you that new features are “coming”. Please get rid of that. Also - an important function that is missing is the ability to listen to recorded files! You still have to connect the Instamic to a computer for that. I can also never quite get the monitoring to work even after pairing it with Bluetooth (you essentially have 2 Bluetooth connections to this device).

Developer Response ,

Hi Jpgeorge,
We have designed the UI with the 4th icon on the menu from the very beginning. That would be the File Manager you are looking for. Once we have enabled that, the greyed out button would make sense. Regarding the monitoring there several factors that can affect the final functionality (interferences, distance, etc.). Instamic is an MFI certified device, so everything should work just fine. There are always technical solutions to improve anything on software and we will definitely many things in the future. Stay tuned. Regards, Michele Baggio - Instamic CEO

Tiny mic that packs a punch

This little microphone is amazing. The sound quality rivals my Rode shotgun mic at a fraction of the size. I can conceal the microphone on set and get crisp audio when my camera is far away from the talent. I also plan to use it for audio when doing drone videography.

The app does what it is supposed to do. I can adjust the settings and gain of the microphone, see the levels while recording, and start and stop recording. That’s all I need from the app. I have not had any app crashes on my iPhone 12 Pro Max.

I am very satisfied with the Instamic and the app.

Terrible App & Mic

For such a costly mic, I expected so much better. My app crashes often. I press “record,” wait for about 60 seconds, and then it vanishes and loses the connection with my phone. The fact that the mic often messes up my recordings (skipping / speeding up), the button is really hard to press, and the whole thing is not that user-friendly—this was sadly a waste of money for me.
