The IQAir Atem app adds functionality and convenience to your IQAir Atem Car and IQAir Atem personal air purifier. The app functions as a remote control that allows you to turn the air purifier on and off and select the desired level of airflow. The IQAir Atem app also allows you to customize the airflow, light settings and audio feedback. The app tracks filter life and notifies you when it’s time to change. The Atem Car features a touch control option to prevent unwanted passenger use. The Atem personal air purifier features a Smart On/Off function that turns the air purifier on when you and your Bluetooth enabled smartphone are in reach.

Does Atem Car have Smart On/Off too?
I’ve got an Atem Desktop and an Atem Car. I found the Car version also turned itself off and had to be manually turned on? Is this by design (if so, please make it possible to disable this) or a flaw?
Good features, but...
I like the app features, including the ability to adjust fan speeds higher than the Atem’s default fan speeds for low/medium/high, the display of current temperature and humidity, and the display of filter life, BUT Bluetooth connectivity is poor. Even with my iPhone sitting only 1 foot away, it kept disconnecting, such that firmware updates to the Atem were impossible. Only when I leaned my iPhone against my Atem could I successfully install firmware updates. I can’t use the “Smart on/off” feature because with my iPhone on my bedside table, only 3 feet away from my Atem, the connection is poor enough that my Atem keeps shutting on and off. Bummer. The only way I can reconnect with the Atem after I lose Bluetooth connection with it is to remove the app running in my iPhone’s background and re-launch the app.
Also, I have tried at least 5 times to register my device via the app. Each time I’ve filled out the form and (seeing that my device’s serial number is auto-filled for me) I hit the submit button. Each and every time, I get returned to a blank form! No indication from the app that my registration was successful.
Atem has more work to do on this app.

With the new firmware and bluetooth update you should not be having any smart on/off issues with your Atem. App simply does not function whatsoever
I just received this Atem today here in NYC. IQAir App does not see the Atem device whatsoever. Utterly functionless, no reason to have the App if it does not even see the Atem device to attempt to initiate pairing in the first place. Complete failure. I was planning on purchasing the HealthPro Plus if this test run of IQAir Atem went well due to my concerns of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and Covid-19 here in Manhattan. haha The app didn't even *see* the device at all. Will give it two weeks from today. Update to come...
