Paid Version -Could be better
I downloaded the free app at first, and to my dismay, I could only add four shows. Pointless.
So I paid for the full app. It’s okay in my opinion. Every show I wanted to find I could (even a European series). It has all of the media from each episode and looks nice. It’s fully customizable and the notifications never fail. However, why did I have to just click through hundreds of episodes of Grey’s Anatomy just to mark them all as watched? Why can’t I at least click watched all from an individual series? If you fix that, this app will deserve 5 stars.
I really wanted to love this app. I watch and keep track of a lot of tv shows. After getting this app up and running as well as creating a trakt account I quickly noticed a lot of irritating glitches. It took me quite a while to enter every show, some of which I have a lot of catching up to do...And then I realized after 24 hours that some interfaces actually lose track of your shows!! I changed to a terminus theme and every single time I go out of the app there are tons of shows in which I have now lost my place because it doesn’t save it, random eps show up was unwatched. I tried reloading from trakt. Doesn’t seem to matter. I don’t know if losing track of episodes is a terminus theme glitch but beware...don’t change themes. You’ll lose all of your data. Since last night I’ve had to re update greys anatomy (for example) no less than 10 times. It continues to mark random episodes as unwatched no matter how many times I correct it. Have now lost my place in not one but a several shows. Not worth the price at this point. Going back to my old app which wasn’t as attractive but also never had repeat errors. Unbelievably frustrating. Update. This same error is evident in all of the themes. :(
The BEST TV App
iShows TV is seriously the best TV management app on iOS. I've had it for a year and a half now, and love its features. The UI is really well thought out, and has plenty of options. I've tried similar apps, which on the surface seem great, but they lack features and mostly attempt to "wow" buyers with cover art, while offering a claustrophobic and confusing UI. iShows goes FAR beyond that, giving you access to full, clearly presented info on shows and episodes, AND allows you to see which TV/streaming services TV shows are available on. iShows clearly displays the number of episodes that are available to watch, along with the ability to customize the app's theme. Finally, you're even able to select your preferred cover art from images pulled from Trakt.
The one bit of feedback I have is that it would be great to have 1-2 additional 'favorites' screens for more organization options.
