Jamison is a professional-grade music player for macOS, designed for audiophiles, musicians, and audio engineers who want absolute control over playback quality, library management, and listening workflow. It combines a studio-precision audio engine with a distinctive, transparent interface inspired by the golden age of Mac music players. Studio-Precision Audio Engine Jamison runs a 32-bit float internal audio pipeline for maximum headroom and processing accuracy, ensuring transparent playback and artifact-free DSP. Its dual-player architecture enables true gapless playback with preload buffering, while an advanced crossfade engine offers equal-power, linear, and S-curve transitions. A 10-band fully parametric EQ with real-time spectrum analyzer allows detailed tonal shaping. Optional peak limiting and TPDF dither are available for controlled output and device compatibility. Core Audio integration includes hog mode, hot-plug device detection, and selectable buffer sizes for stable playback across professional and consumer hardware. Sample rates up to 192 kHz and bit depths up to 32-bit float are supported with bit-accurate output. Broad Format Support Play MP3, AAC, ALAC, FLAC, AIFF, WAV, OGG, and CAF files. Jamison uses a TagLib C++ bridge for precise metadata reading and writing, including ReplayGain, BPM, disc number, and embedded artwork. Built for Large Libraries Jamison’s SQLite-based library engine handles 100,000+ tracks with instant FTS5 full-text search across titles, artists, and albums. Create smart playlists using a flexible rule system. Import music via drag and drop with automatic metadata scanning. Tracks can be rated inline with a 0–5 star system. Transparent, Living Interface Jamison’s interface blends retro inspiration with modern macOS rendering. Transport controls echo classic SoundJam lineage, while the library sits inside a curved glass container that can become fully transparent in X-RAY mode. A Metal-accelerated real-time spectrum visualizer animates playback, and a floating mini player keeps controls accessible without occupying your workspace. Multiple EQ color palettes let you adapt the visual tone to your setup. The track table is powered by a native NSTableView bridge for smooth 60 fps scrolling even with very large libraries. Keyboard-First Workflow Space for play/pause. Cmd-Arrow for next/previous. Cmd-K for instant search. Cmd-Option-I opens the track inspector. Typing directly in the track list filters results immediately. Full media key support is included. A Player for Serious Listening Jamison is built for users who care about how music is reproduced, organized, and experienced. It delivers studio-grade numerical precision, bit-accurate playback, and a uniquely transparent visual environment — without the complexity of a full DAW.

What's New in Version 9.0.1 Fixed a bug where imported songs would not play after restarting the app. Jamison now uses security-scoped bookmarks to persist file access across launches — drag your music once and it plays forever, even after quitting and reopening. Songs already in your library will automatically update their access permissions the next time you drag them in.
