Description

eeCrewConnect is a complex system for detection and notification of Schedule Changes towards the Crewmembers whose Schedules are updated. Additionally, the system also offers possibilities of sending AdHoc notifications as well as numerous other advanced features.

With JETCRW, the eeCrewConnect system is complemented with the possibility to communicate with Crewmembers and provide them with detailed information on the fly via their mobile Devices.

Besides increasing the amount and quality of data sent to the Crewmembers via this new channel, the feedback from Crewmembers will be instantaneous. I.e. for any message sent via the JETCRW channel to Crewmembers it is now possible to instantly know whether the Crewmember has actually seen the notification. This significantly improves the quality of communication between Crewmembers and Crew Support Services.

Ugh

You know whenever they say it has a "new and improved" user interface it's gonna be crusty and by god this app is crustier than the Krusty Krab, can they just bring the old one back?

The first example I'd like to give is viewing more information about a leg you're working and how cluttered the screen is. There's an X to close the window, along with a bar similar to the "home button" on newer iphones but it doesn't do anything if you swipe it. Then there are 4 different arrows, and below that, the arrow you're supposed to tap to return to your day's schedule. It also does not auto-fill the actual arrivals and departures, you have to toggle between "S" and "A" on a switch that blends right into the rest of the interface if you're unfamiliar with the app.

In order to view more information for each leg, such as the tail number and type of equipment, you have to tap on the segments individually. In the old app, this information was immediately accessible. I'm also not a huge fan of how the two destination cities are squashed together on the side of the screen with tiny, narrow font instead of how they were in the old app (essentially the header, and in bold font.)

Then there's the way reserve assignments appear. I'm not on reserve anymore but when I was it bothered me how each day in your block was represented by one pill shape per day, compared to the old app where your entire block was a full rectangle spanning across each day you worked. Now that I have a line, all my multiple day assignments look like that, which makes more sense visually.

I know we tend to reject what is new and unfamiliar, so let me talk about some of the positives, because there are things I like too. The color coding for report time, legs, and layovers is a nice touch. The layout of the app itself also works much better with "full screen" phones (no home button) than the previous version. Lastly, I like the setup of the notifications panel, although it's not the most intuitive if your notifications are not schedule related (which isn't bad, just worth noting, make sure you check the other icons at the bottom too.)

Overall though, this app is a downgrade. Just let us use the old one pleeeaaasseeee

TL;DR cluttered UI + "improvements" = poopoo app

Horrible

If I could give negative stars I would. Hard to read, hard to understand, confusing, often freezes and must relaunch, often past & future schedules disappear & not available. Absolutely nothing good to say about this new version that was unnecessary. At least allow the option for both versions to be used & not retire the old app. Things are stressful enough and to fix something that wasn’t broken & crates confusion- way to go team. Who is responsible for this creation & who can we contact? You are failing the workers who make this operation happen.

Superior in all aspects

This app and the roll out are flawless. Things look good going forward. Really good.
