Keys for Safari lets users browse the web without reaching for a mouse or trackpad. It differs from other mouseless navigation extensions in that it attempts to render keys stylishly on the page to improve the user experience. Specifically, it generates floating gibberish sparingly and prefers to use text already on the page as a key.
- Click away, scroll away, or press escape to deactivate
- Customizable activation key
- Funcitonal backspace
Just press G to generate shortcuts, then type any shortcut to click it.
What’s New

Ratings and Reviews
Good but limited
Really needs the ability to open links in the background, which is a basic feature that other free solutions provide and more (won't mention their names here since this extension supports a good cause and excels in other ways).
Developer Response ,
Actually, you can open links in background tabs by enabling that checkbox in the containing app, then using the command key alongside the activation key. Also, you can say Vimari. It’s not that deep. 😂😂😂
Perfect for navigating around Safari with a keyboard
Takes a bit to understand at first, but once you get it, it’s really nice. Basically it either highlights portions of text in the page in red that you can type to “click” that part of the page, or it generates a text key like “FF” that you can type in order to click the element. Very handy, highly recommended.
Excellent app
Works flawlessly. Simple and convenient for any poweruser.
One funciton missing and one feature missing; abbility to customize hotkey to generate shortcuts, and ability to either open in current window or open in seperate window (ie key jump keyboard navigation on chrome allows for , to generate shortcuts and . to generate shortcuts that would open in seperate window).
Thanks.
Developer Response ,
Glad you liked the app! 🙂 Actually, it *is* possible to customize the key used to generate shortcuts from within the containing app. The keycap in the center of the app is actually a text field. Simply highlight the keycap’s letter with your mouse then type the key you’d like to use. With respect to the ability to open links in background tabs, download linked files, open links in new window, etc. they’re all features I’m considering. Someone on Reddit asked for the same thing. I’m hesitant for a few reasons. I wouldn’t want the app to become so bloated with features that it becomes hard for me to maintain. It’d be a complexity that’d have to be explained to users somewhere. I don’t think most people would use it frequently. Point taken though. Thanks for taking the time to leave a review!
