Khao

Decide what to eat tonight

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Dinner, minus the deadlock. Swipe one dish at a time, tap for the recipe, and let Khao learn what you like. Cook it or hand off to Zomato or Swiggy. Dinner, minus the deadlock. One dish at a time. You decide. Swipe for ideas. Tap for the recipe. Khao helps you decide what to eat without burying you in endless lists. Open the app and you'll see one dish. If it's not right, swipe to the next. If it is, tap for the recipe. The more you swipe, the better Khao understands your palate—and the less often it suggests what you have already rejected. MAKE TONIGHT EASIER Tell Khao what fits right now: veg, vegan, Jain, non-veg or egg; your allergies; how hungry you are; how much time you have; and what you're in the mood for. Refine by spice, richness, budget or calories whenever you want. BUILT FOR INDIAN HOMES Household mode keeps each family member's diet and allergies in mind, helping you find dishes everyone can eat. Khao also understands Indian festivals and vrat fasting days, and adjusts its suggestions accordingly. MORE THAN THE EVERYDAY DECK • Leftover Remix turns what's already in your fridge into a dish. • Dinner Party helps you build a balanced menu for your guests. • Later keeps good ideas ready for another day. COOK IT OR ORDER IT Explore Indian regional cooking alongside modern, global and fusion food. Make the dish at home, or hand it off to Zomato or Swiggy when cooking is not happening tonight. PRIVATE BY DESIGN The matching runs on your phone. Your diet, your allergies and everything you swipe stay on your device. Khao works in English and Hindi, on iPhone and iPad. No account needed. The next time someone asks, "What should we eat?"—open Khao. Ye khao.

Undo is back, dishes you turn down stay gone, and there is now one tap to the recipe on YouTube. UNDO The undo button is back on the deck, where it was. It takes the last swipe back exactly as it was, including "never show again". WHAT YOU SAY NO TO STAYS GONE Khao now records that a dish was actually put in front of you, not only that you answered it. A dish you turn down moves to the back of the deck instead of coming round again, and one you turn down twice stays back there until you have seen everything else. WATCH SOMEONE MAKE IT The cook screen now has a button that opens YouTube, searched for that dish's recipe, in the language you are reading Khao in. SEND A DISH TO A FRIEND Share any dish to WhatsApp, Instagram, or anywhere else on your phone. It goes as a card with the dish on it, and whoever you send it to can get Khao from the same message. VRAT, IN ONE TAP Fasting today? Turn on "Vrat today" in the diet menu and the deck narrows to sattvik food for the day, then goes back to normal by itself tomorrow. The one-tap day shortcut can set aside a veg day, but it never lifts a fast. EAT NON-VEG TODAY? A veg day can now be set aside for a single day from the deck itself, and the diet control says plainly what today's rule is instead of offering a choice that cannot take effect. THE BASKET, AND THE SHOPPING LIST Add dishes as you swipe and Khao works out the combined shopping list. You can add one from the deck and from the dish itself, not only from a screen behind a tab. LEFTOVER REMIX LISTENS, AND LOOKS Say what is in the fridge out loud, or photograph the shelf, instead of typing it all in. ONE LINK FOR THE HOUSEHOLD Send a link to the people you cook for and they fill in their own diet and allergies. No account, and nothing is stored on a server: the invitation travels inside the link itself. A WALKTHROUGH ON THE FIRST RUN Khao now shows how the card stack works before dropping you into it, for anyone who has not used one before. It can be skipped. SMALLER THINGS Opening a dish gives you one clear way forward instead of asking twice whether you will cook or order. Dishes a long way from your palate are held back rather than repeated. And when you have told Khao you are ordering, dishes almost nobody has heard of wait their turn.
