Revised…get app to work properly

Here’s a revised review. I was able to get the app to work and it was somewhat my error. My phone was connected to a VPN set for Mexico. I’m assuming that was the problem because that’s the only thing I changed before the app started working.

I would give it more stars, however, the lack of titles and more familiar artists is a big limitation. Not a lot of hit material to choose from.

——————————————

I’m not sure what the problem is and maybe someone can a solution. Once at the opening splash screen “kord“ it quickly goes to a banner at the top of the page that says “oops something is not right.” At that point, the app is basically frozen because there’s nowhere to escape out of the app. I am registered.

KORD app is fun, and bubbly

Great idea. Uneven execution. I decided it’s try it for a month. It needs work. When you open it, whether or not you’re already a subscriber, you get the same screen. On that screen it offers a 7 day free trial. It’s not clear what to do if you’re already a subscriber. You have to scroll down until you find artists or eras you want to explore, click on it, and it will play what you selected. There is an info icon in the upper corner that pops up at this point, clicking on that will show if you’re a subscriber. It shows an option to rate and leave a review. That link does not work. I’m leaving this on the APP store website.

Then there are other bugs. I once got a total blank white screen when I tried to play “The Gambler.” Had to close the app and restart to get it back. Then clicking on the Gambler, there was no section that showed the various vocals and instruments to turn off/isolate. It was only the released version of the song. Hey, if I wanted to just listen to it, I have a lot more convenient ways to do that. Other songs did show the parts broken down.

Lastly, the library selection is very limited. Not many songs. Presumably they will populate it with a more, but not sure I’m going to renew while waiting for that at $8 per month.

KORD knows their audience

This is an app made for hardcore music fans by hardcore music fans and it shows! So far they’ve boasted a great catalog of 150+ songs in what seems to be under a year - including artists I never thought I’d see stems for (Crowded House, Gary Numan, etc). Not to mention the attention to detail with including liner note details and biographies on the people who made these songs what they are. I pray more people find out about this amazing app, especially given how customer oriented the creators are going by my interactions with them through their subreddit. Long live KORD!
