Talk with the great characters of science fiction and literature — and now, step inside their stories.
LIVE CONVERSATION
Speak or type with over 140 protagonists, each answering in their own voice, from their own world. Arthur Dent mid-demolition, Winston Smith under the telescreen, Offred in Gilead. They know their story. They don't know they're in one.
FULL IMMERSION
Complete retellings you can walk through, scene by scene, in the character's own spoken voice. Flatland (1884), told by A. Square himself — all twenty-two movements of Abbott's classic, from the Council chamber to Pointland. We by Yevgeny Zamyatin, the 1921 novel that invented modern dystopia, told in five chapters by D-503 and rendered in a new English telling from the Russian. And new in this release, Flow My Tears, the Policeman Said — Philip K. Dick's 1974 novel in five chapters, in the voice of a man who wakes to find that nobody has ever heard of him.
THE AUTHOR HIMSELF
Philip K. Dick, at a desk in Santa Ana in 1978. Not a character out of one of his books but the man who wrote them, drawn from his interviews, his letters and the speech he gave at Metz. Ask him about the novels, the visions, or what he thought was actually happening.
A. SQUARE BRAIN
A thinking companion, not a chatbot. A. Square has stepped off the page: he remembers what you talk about between visits, holds a question for you while you're away, and opens the door with what he made of it. His memory is drawn as his own Flatland cosmology — subjects gain sides as you return to them — and you can read and strike anything he holds. It lives on your device and in your own private iCloud. No access to your accounts, ever, by design.
THE CACOPHONY
Ask one question and hear the whole library answer at once. Voices take hold of each other's sentences, argue, and arrive somewhere none of them started. Tap any name inside the passage to go and speak with that character alone.
ON YOUR HOME SCREEN
A widget holding two characters you choose, one tap from a conversation. Calls appear on your Lock Screen and carry on while the phone is locked.
FREE TO BEGIN
Four characters are free to talk with, including A. Square and D-503, and Flatland's Full Immersion is free in full. A subscription (monthly or yearly, auto-renewing) opens the complete library, the other immersions, the Brain, the Cacophony and Philip K. Dick.

Deckard & Murderbot now hold their room between them. Whatever you ask, the answer comes from one of the two, in his own voice, and when you come back after a while you walk in on their conversation rather than being greeted by a stranger.
New in the library: Sirius, the dog with a human mind from Olaf Stapledon's novel; Al Barker, from Algis Budrys's Rogue Moon; Professor Darrelhyde, from Brigid Brophy's Hackenfeller's Ape; Leo Kall, from Karin Boye's Kallocain; and Professor Georg Manfeldt, from Thea von Harbou's The Rocket to the Moon. Each has a portrait, an introduction and a voice of his own.
