Somebody always covers the groceries. Somebody else got the gas. By the end of the trip nobody quite remembers who owes what, and asking feels awkward. Ledger fixes that.
Ledger is a simple shared-expense tracker for roommates, trips, couples, and friend groups. Add what people spend, and Ledger keeps the tally, so everyone can see exactly where things stand without doing math in their head or having a weird money conversation.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Start a group. Roommates, a beach weekend, a couple, a dinner club, anyone you share costs with.
2. Add expenses and split them any way. Equally, by exact amounts, by percentages, or by shares. Mix and match per expense. Ledger does the math to the cent, every time.
3. See who owes whom. A clear running balance for everyone in the group, plus the fewest payments that make everybody even. If five people owe each other in circles, Ledger untangles it into the two or three payments that actually settle it.
4. Settle up in a tap. When it is time to pay someone back, Ledger hands you straight to Venmo or Cash App with the amount already filled in. Send the money there, come back, and mark it paid.
WHAT MAKES LEDGER DIFFERENT
- No money ever moves through Ledger. It only keeps the score. You pay each other however you already do. Ledger just makes sure the numbers are right.
- Every kind of split. Equal, exact dollars, percentages, or shares, always reconciled exactly, down to the cent.
- The fewest payments to settle. Ledger nets the whole group out and shows the smallest set of payments that squares everyone.
- Everyone on the same page. Invite people to the group, and each person sees the balances from their own account.
- Simple sign-in. Use a password, or have a sign-in link emailed to you on the web.
- Yours to keep or delete. Your groups are private to the people in them, and you can delete your account anytime, right in the app.
