Ledger is built on true double-entry accounting, designed with an intuitive and capable interface. Because everything in Ledger is an account—including income and expenses—you can view balances everywhere, not just in your bank accounts. Revenues and expenses carry balances of their own, letting you track spending throughout the month the same way you track a bank account. See your balance at every transaction, and follow how it changes over time with clear, intuitive graphs. Set budgets for income and expenses, and see your progress visually as you record transactions. The double-entry design also enables advanced capabilities like transaction splits, making it easy to separate taxes or divide a purchase across multiple accounts while keeping everything balanced. Adding transactions is quick and effortless. From your bank or credit card account, tap an expense icon to create a transaction against that account. When you need more detail, add a custom description, notes, photos, and a contact—giving you as much context as you want, but only when you need it. Ledger gives you a clear view of where your money goes. Explore your spending with charts and graphs, and review patterns from the past year to help you set or adjust budgets with confidence. When you need reports, Ledger can generate XLS-based journals, account ledgers, income statements, and balance sheets. Have a report you’d like to see? We welcome your feedback. Your data matters. Ledger includes CSV-based transaction import, making it easy to bring in downloaded account statements. During import, you can create rules that automatically categorize transactions based on their description—rules that are used for future imports. Support for more formats is planned, guided by user requests. Also, back up and restore your data using a simple JSON-based format. Ledger is designed to integrate seamlessly into iOS. It supports Shortcuts, enabling workflows like auto-import when using Apple Pay, and Spotlight search, so you can find transactions right from your Home Screen. Ledger works on iPhone and iPad, with optional iCloud Sync to keep everything up to date across devices.

Would have given this app 5 stars. Just needs one improvement IMHO. Can you build in the ability to make notes on each entry? Otherwise like a few other people have said "Best App on my phone!!!" the back up and restore feature works flawlessly! The flow of the program is that of a true accounting program (once you have the most rudamentry of understanding how accountents do it) with the easy of use of this simple yet most effective app. Thank you for your time and effort in this always daily used app. I finally have control of my accounts!!!

Would have given this app 5 stars. Just needs one improvement IMHO. Can you build in the ability to make notes on each entry? Otherwise like a few other people have said "Best App on my phone!!!" the back up and restore feature works flawlessly! The flow of the program is that of a true accounting program (once you have the most rudamentry of understanding how accountents do it) with the easy of use of this simple yet most effective app. Thank you for your time and effort in this always daily used app. I finally have control of my accounts!!!

I have never kept record of my spending like I have been instructed to do for years. This app has caused me to make a change, and I find it awesomely good as long as I am diligent in my inputing info. I can see where this will show me weaknesses in my spending habits, and also help me keep track of my impulse purchases that I seem to forget 20 minutes afterwards. I would probaby give it a 5 star rating but some of that is based on my limited understanding of bookkeeping and the difficulty in the learning curve for us accounting ner' do wells.Update: I have used the product endlessly for a little while now, and I now find it indespensible. There is a very strong possibility that I am using it improperly and it still takes care of my record keeping for finances. I now rate it a five the only improvement I could think of is if it could have some type of monthly tally, so I can save my monthly records and compare monthly to see if I have bettered my spending habits.UPDATE: Still my most used app, but since I installed OS 3.0 it now crashes when I select the amount for a transaction. I'm still leaving 5 stars since 3.0 is not official till tomorrow, and the developer has been awesome in the past with fixes. 

Thank you very much for listening!! Honestly I started to use your application once I found some other accounting explanations, but your tutorial clarify my thoughts. By the way, thanks for give us a sneek peek about your next update, great add-ons. Here are another suggestions:- It would be great if you could make disappear the words "New Transaction" when I start to write. That will avoid to click on the "X" icon each time that I want to add a new one, it's better for all of us to specify the transaction title. Well, I'm not pretty sure, it's just a suggestion...- Also, If you think that you'll do more tutorials, I think it's a great idea to put in your website a mailing list subscriber. I didn't know about your website update until I was managing my reviews so I decided to check your app section.I can't wait for the new version!!!!!!

This is a good app to help you budget your expenses. A basic understand of credits and debits is needed to be able to use this app in my opinion. You don't need to be an accountant but it would help you to know that: Assets accounts have a debt normal balance, which means you debit it to add to it or in the case of this app(use the plus black icon). Also expenses have a normal debit balance. Liabilities and revenue have a credit normal balance, which means you add to that account by crediting it or in the case of this app( use the red minus icon). To take away from any account just apply it's opposite normal balance. For example to reduce an asset account which have a normal debit balance you must credit it. I hope this info helps you in using this app. It is well worth the $3.99 I paid for it;). P.S speaking from an accounting stand point. (Revenues are suppose to have a credit balance), but in this app it seems to have it setup as a debit account in order to add to it.Sincerely,Accountant in the making.
