Do not chase the shutter. Detect sudden changes in brightness, record the moments around them, and save the brightest video frame as a photo. By the time you see a lightning flash and press the shutter, the moment is already gone. Lightning Camera watches for sudden changes in the sky's brightness and treats them as possible lightning events. It records video from around the change, then selects the brightest frame as a best-shot photo. CAPTURE THE MOMENTS AROUND THE FLASH Point your secured device toward the sky and start monitoring. When the app detects a sudden change in brightness, it aims to save about three seconds before and five seconds after the event, including audio when microphone access is allowed. SAVE THE BRIGHTEST FRAME Lightning Camera checks the frames in the saved video and automatically extracts the brightest one as a photo. Spend less time searching through the recording for the right moment. REVIEW, EXPORT, AND SHARE Open your capture history to watch saved videos and view best-shot photos. Export them to your photo library or use the system share menu to send them to compatible social and messaging apps. You can reopen the guide from Help at any time. CAPTURES STAY ON YOUR DEVICE No account is required. Videos, photos, and capture history are stored on your device. The app does not use your location. How to use Lightning Camera 1. From a safe indoor location, secure your device with the sky in view. 2. Tap Start Capture. 3. When a sudden brightness change is detected, the app records the surrounding video and creates a best-shot photo. 4. Open Capture History to review, export, or share it. Please note • Lightning Camera detects changes in image brightness. It does not identify lightning exclusively and may also react to lights, flashes, or camera exposure changes. • Recording length may be shorter depending on when monitoring starts or stops, the device, and operating-system conditions. • The app must remain open in the foreground while monitoring. • Never go outside or enter a dangerous location to use the app. Always put your safety first. Preserve a split second in the sky as both video and a photo.
