Still didn’t work.
I have emailed back and forth with support and it still loses communication. I have to keep unplugging it so it will connect. It’s been like this for four months. It’s literally located four feet from my router. Still no fix. Even after today’s update, I try and update the firmware and the app just crashes. Sorry guys. I tried hanging in there, but I gotta get rid of it and try something else.
I have had Vocolinc products in my home for over a year and a half and have had zero issues with them. Well, one bulb needed a master reset when I opened it, but the amazing support staff at Vocolinc helped with that in less than 30 mins. I have 9 bulbs, an LED strip light, a power strip, and 4 plugs. I have lights, wax warmers, fans, and my coffee pot connected. All work flawlessly. I don’t understand the negative reviews. All HomeKit apps add all other products to their inventory. All allow access to each other in their respective apps. I can set the devices up in HomeKit or the LinkWise app without any problem. I’ve only had connection issues once and that was when the power flickered at my apartment. I live in an apartment which means tons of routers in the area and still have no issues with connection to mine. They work flawlessly when I’m using them remotely which is why I bought my initial set to begin with. Boy it’s nice to have a fresh hot cup of coffee waiting for you when you get home in the morning. All in all, these HomeKit products rock. I can only assume the issues others are having are user errors in some way. I’ve never had an experience with the units that I wouldn’t consider amazing. Would recommend these every day of the week and twice on Sundays.
Great devices, bad app
UPDATE: The solution seems to be to delete and then reinstall the app. Changing from 1 to 3 stars because the app could still be better.
I have a set of the Vocolink smart bulbs, and I installed and set up two of the four bulbs before iOS13. Everything worked just fine. Then I updated to iOS13 and went to set up a bulb in a new lamp, and the whole app doesn’t work. It doesn’t show either of the two bulbs I previously had set up, and it gave me no options to set up another bulb. Thank goodness you can set up devices in the Home app now (I don’t know if this was a feature before iOS13, but it certainly is now). So I have the bulb working, but now I have a constant notification because the home app says there’s an update for my newly installed bulb, but it directs me to this app, which of course doesn’t work. Please get a fix going for this! Your devices are great, but your app makes me want to shop with other brands for smart devices
