When I originally bought the light, I operated it with the buttons only. My impression of the light was that it was excellent but.... the battery life was unpredictable. One day I had some time to kill, so I downloaded the app out of curiosity and to see if there was an update to the light’s software. With the app I was able to see through visualization the light settings, and I learned more about cycling the strobe and —most importantly— blackout mode. Blackout mode is how you make the battery last a very long time. I’m impressed. Good job on the app, Litra!

I recently tried the app out with my Litra Studios. During one of the firmware updates, something went wrong. Litra support for back to me a day later with instructions that thankfully fixed things. Once I had the lights all up and running, I was surprised to find that when changing between lights, the app didn’t seem to remember which mode was used. So if I was using HSI, for instance, I had to hit the HSI button again every time I switched lights. Ideally I’d have some basic control over multiple lights all on the same page. The lights themselves are pretty impressive, but I would say the app has a ways to go before it’s on par with the hardware.

The app is incredibly intuitive to use and controls the LitraPro beautifully. My friends and I downloaded it and started using it right away with no problem. In fact, once I had my settings down, I had to interrupt my friend to stop giggling with excitement over using the app and focus on the photo shoot at hand. The app is amazingly easy to use and does exactly what you want controlling the LitraPro.

I am a tester of the new LitraPro and love the light and can control the features on the light itself. However, I love the app and love that I can control a few lights at once or make adjustments without climbing ladders to get to the lights. The app is so intuitive and really enhances the product.
