Description
Live HealthSmart Alabama (LHSA), is an initiative by the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB). LHSA aims to advance healthy eating, physical activity, and prevention and wellness in underserved neighborhoods throughout Birmingham and the state of Alabama. The 10-year goal of this project is to move Alabama out of the bottom 10 in national health rankings for obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol.
This mobile app was developed to help improve participants’ physical activity levels, healthy food purchases, and wellness. This app integrates with the Health app using HealthKit/CareKit APIs to synchronize fitness, nutrition, wellness related data. Information synchronized/recorded by the mobile app will be analyzed to assess user engagement and measure progress of LHSA goals.
