Speak a thought and it is saved, named, and organized on your wrist. No iPhone, no account, no subscription, and no data collected. LocalAudio is an operating system for your ideas, on your Apple Watch. Speak an idea and it is saved, named and organized, ready to hear again. It needs no iPhone, no account and no subscription, and it works with the watch offline. CAPTURE AN IDEA IN TWO TAPS Tap the Record complication on your watch face, or the red button in the app, and talk. It keeps going with your wrist down, and nothing is lost even if the app is closed in the middle of it. A plan, a reminder, a journal entry on a walk: each is saved under its date and time, in the folder you choose. ORGANIZED YOUR WAY Your ideas live in folders you name and arrange, sorted by name or by date. Rename them, move them and gather them into playlists, all on the watch. HEAR IT AGAIN, AND CARRY WHAT MATTERS Play back anything you captured on your headphones or the watch's speaker. LocalAudio also plays audio you own and put on the watch yourself, so you can carry the last voicemail from a dearly departed loved one, a talk you want to hear again, or a story read aloud. It can remember your place, plays at 0.5x to 3x without changing the pitch, and has a sleep timer that fades out. EVERYTHING ON YOUR WRIST Play, pause, skip, and scrub, turn the Digital Crown for volume, and use the buttons of your headphones. On Apple Watch Ultra 2 and 3, Series 10 and 11 and SE 3, sound also plays through the watch's speaker. LocalAudio Controls is a card for the Smart Stack and for a watch face's wide slot. It shows what plays, with play, pause, previous, and next that work without opening the app, and it follows along while you record. On a watch face it takes the face's color. Settings->Card Shows chooses what it shows. BACK UP TO YOUR LAPTOP Keep backups of your ideas on your own laptop, over your home Wi-Fi. With rclone installed, run one command on the laptop: rclone serve webdav /path/to/backup --addr :8080 Then add the laptop in LocalAudio under Transfers. From then on you can backup anything to the laptop from its menu, and copy audio (e.g. talks, podcasts, etc.) that you own to the watch the same way. PRIVACY LocalAudio collects no data. It has no accounts and no analytics, and it transmits nothing to anyone but the backup computer you add yourself, such as your own laptop. - Everything you record, your playlists and your settings, and audio you own and put on the watch yourself, are stored on your watch. By default none of it is part of any backup that watchOS makes; you can choose what to include under Settings->Device Backup so that you do not lose what cannot be replaced, such as a copy of the last voicemail from a dearly departed loved one. - LocalAudio connects only to backup computers you add yourself, to back up what you choose and to copy audio you own to the watch. It never contacts any other address. - Optional passwords for those computers' connections are kept in your watch's keychain, are sent only to the computer they belong to, and are never restored to another device. LocalAudio plays only audio you own and put on it yourself. It does not stream from any service.
