IRIS is Language Services Associates’ (LSA) new Instant Remote Interpretation Services platform. Our next-generation video remote interpreting (VRI) platform, IRIS, delivers the highest quality, high-definition video and audio available today. Powered by the industry-leading Vidyo® platform, IRIS is designed to provide a clear, high-quality video and audio connection, so you will feel like the interpreter is right there in the room with you!

A Video Interpretation session is essential for our Deaf and Hard of Hearing customers needing an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter to interpret the spoken word of a physician, nurse, judge, or attorney. Video Interpretation is available in 14 other languages and is useful when visual cues are beneficial for interactions such as a dermatology examination or a physical therapy explanation.

An Audio Interpretation session (much like a telephone interpretation) is available for more than 240 languages and is the de facto standard for most interpretation needs across our medical, legal, and call center customers.

Users must have an active account with Language Services Associates to sign in. Your mobile device(s) must be connected through Wi-Fi or 4G to access our interpreter network.

Firewall Settings:
Please refer to the IRIS User Guide in our Help section for instructions on enabling ports in your firewall to allow voice, video, and data to be transmitted. IRIS will not work without the firewall being configured.

Test your camera and microphone:
To ensure that your camera and microphone are set up correctly, we encourage you to start a session by testing your equipment. Please refer to the IRIS User Guide in our Help section for instructions on testing your equipment.

Landscape Mode:
Pursuant to the recommendation from the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Inc. (RID), we recommend that you use the iPad in landscape mode to provide the optimal experience for Video Interpretation.
