Check whether you can fly where you stand or across a whole area: official drone zones, flying weather for your drone, golden hour and checks you can share.
Luftrom shows where you can fly a drone in Norway, and what applies there.
The map shows every official Norwegian drone zone from the Civil Aviation Authority (the ED-269 dataset) on Kartverket's topographic maps. Tap a zone to see what it is, who is responsible, and what you must do. Long-press a spot, or tap "Check here", and you get one combined answer for that place:
• Which zones the spot lies in, and whether you need permission
• Terrain height and where the 120 m ceiling is
• Wind, gusts, temperature and precipitation at ground level, hour by hour
• Sunrise and sunset
• Links onward to the NOTAM briefing, the NSM sensor ban map and the rules for drones in protected areas
Plan the flight, not just the place:
• My drones: enter each drone's class and its wind and temperature limits, and every check rates the weather for that drone
• Flying weather for the next 48 hours, rated hour by hour, with the best daylight window
• Saved spots with their zone verdict and current flying weather, a widget for your favourite spot, and an evening notification when tomorrow looks good
• A flight logbook filled in from the check (place, zones, weather and drone), with totals and CSV export
• An editable pre-flight checklist, saved with each flight
• Your operator ID, and reminders before your certificates expire
• Siri and Shortcuts: "Can I fly here with Luftrom"
Check a whole area, share and shoot:
• Area check: draw a circle or a polygon on the map and get one verdict for the whole area, with every zone that touches it. Save areas, and export a PDF report or a KML file for a client or landowner
• Share a check as an image with the map, verdict, zones and weather, plus a link that opens the same spot in Luftrom
• Golden and blue hour in the 48-hour forecast, the best photo window with good flying weather for your drone, and where the sun is, shown on a map
Search for places, find your own position, and use the legend for every zone type. Zones and the verdict work offline. Map, weather and terrain need a connection.
Luftrom is a planning tool from an independent developer and is not affiliated with the Civil Aviation Authority or Avinor. It does not replace official permits, NOTAMs or your own judgement. Clearance to fly in a control zone must still be obtained from the tower.
