I ditched LR Mobile for a subscription to the desktop version of Luminar Neo. It works great and I love the ease of use. I finally figured out how to download presets, and I couldn’t be happier. The only downside is the freezing of the app that I’ve experienced recently and when this happens, it doesn’t save all the editing that I was working on, so I have to re-edit the same photo numerous times, and this can be extremely frustrating.

Very nice but no plugins with the app store version?

Great software and great company. But heads up: As far as I can tell, the plugins for photoshop and lightroom are not available in the version from the mac app store. I didn't see any warning of this in the FAQs or elsewhere. It would be good to make this clearer somehow.

I did try it as a possible alternative to Lightroom and the problems started even before I opened it. The first screen where you need to select the plan was impossible to proceed by default, because the continue button was hidden behind the main MacOS toolbar. Issues continued into the UI - it would just not fit on the screen and it was impossible to work comfortably. Feels unfinished. Things that I did like is that most hotkeys from Lightroom worked exactly the same. In general, the workflow was very familiar.

Terrible Integration with the App Store

No end of problems with this app as purchased through the app store. I am currently locked out of the app entirely and can’t log in via my Apple account. If I go to their recommended link, it shows old software that I bought online, not through Apple. This is at least the third time that I’ve had major issues with, among other things, upgrades, preset libraries and now being unable to use the app at all. I wish I had never bought it, life is too short to spend that much time with tech support.

Good news! We fixed a bug that made you restore purchases manually. From now on, everything restores automatically - less hassle, more time for creativity.
