Luxor® Controller 4+

This is by far the slowest app I have ever used. I really like a lot of things about the app when it’s functioning at a reasonable speed but I’m trying to control hundreds of lights over five different transformers and one transformer can take over an hour to program one theme into when trying to use the app. For me this app would work so much better if there were three improvements: app speed because it’s currently awful, an easy way to copy and paste one theme and schedule to all the transformers instead of doing the entire process 5 times, and if there were a way to schedule out the entire year or even just half of the year that would be a major weight off of my shoulders but currently it only supports a handful of scheduling slots.

I have programmed this app so many times (and it is not quick to program) and every day when I open it my programs disappear. I have 4 groups of lights and I want them to turn on/off at different time and/or on different days. Impossible to do. First, put one on Pgm A. Then a second on Pgm B. When I click on Pgm C to set it up for a 3rd group, “Pgm A” appears. If I continue it replaces the Pgm A I just entered. So, I opt to put one group in A and 3 in B. Not all the lights come on. I try to assign the “power” button to turn on all lights at 75% (btw, no matter what I set the light intensity to it makes no difference in actual intensity). But, once assigned, pushing the power button does absolutely nothing. And, the app is EXTREMELY slow opening/saving programs. I have wasted hours trying to take advantage of the offered (but unrealized) flexibility to no avail. If you have read this review before you’ve purchased landscape lighting choose another brand. There is nothing I would recommend favorably on this app.

New version is much better than the previous version, but creating schedules with a lot of groups is a pain.

Schedule creation should allow selecting multiple groups for each event. As it is now you can only assign one group, one theme, or all lights per event. If you select a theme then it’s on or off only. I want to be able to select all light groups in the front yard and have them come on at 50% at sunset and then 75% an hour after sunset. Choices are to make events for each group or create different themes for each shift in intensity. Neither is a great option.

Allowing selection of multiple groups with each event would fix the headache that creating a schedule currently is.
