MacPacker is a fast, native archive manager for macOS. Instead of unpacking gigabytes just to get one file, it opens an archive like a Finder window. Browse folders, search by filename, preview contents with Quick Look, then drag out only the file you actually need.

• Search inside an archive
Find a file by name inside ZIP, RAR, 7Z, and more without extracting the archive first. Great when you only need one log, document, or configuration.
• Extract selectively
Drag out one file instead of unzipping everything. Useful when a project folder contains hundreds of files but you only need one.
• Create and edit ZIP
Build new ZIP files from scratch. Also add or delete files in an existing ZIP and save your changes.
• Compress from Finder
Right-click a file or folder in Finder and zip it instantly. No extra app to open.
• Password-protected archives
Open encrypted archives and create AES-256 encrypted ZIPs.
• Opens what others can't
MacPacker uses three engines (7-Zip, The Unarchiver, SWCompression) and automatically picks the right one. If one engine can't read a file, it falls back to another.
• Nested archives, without the hassle
Go directly into archives inside archives, like a ZIP inside an ISO or a RAR inside that ZIP, without extracting intermediate layers first.
• Quick Look integration
Press Space in Finder to preview files inside an archive, no app required.

Detection is based on file content, not only the suffix, so archives are recognized correctly even if the name is misleading.
