MakerBean is desktop software for solo makers and tiny craft businesses who buy inventory parts (beads, wire, findings, packaging, raw materials), turn them into products with recipes and variations, and sell on Etsy, Shopify, craft fairs, and direct checkout. If your business is “supplies in bins → finished pieces → marketplace payouts,” this app is built for you—not generic bookkeeping that treats every sale like a line item with no BOM.

Know what is actually profitable
Dashboard — revenue, material COGS, channel fees, and margin for this month, year-to-date, or all time; product performance and low-stock alerts; what marketplaces still owe you before the deposit hits
Product Profitability — see product profit (sales − materials − channel fees) and margin by design so you spot best sellers and designs that look busy but lose money

See if your parts paid for themselves
Bulk supply orders tie up cash. Inventory cost recovery shows how much of each part’s purchase cost has been earned back through sales, what cost is still tied up in stock, and which materials are fully recovered—with a summary on each part as you work. That answers: “Has this stash turned into revenue yet?”
Price with a plan, not a guess
Set a markup multiplier on each part; recipes drive a recommended price per product and variation. Pricing Overview compares recommended vs average selling price, variance, margin, and how many units you can still build from on-hand stock—so you underprice fewer winners and over-order fewer slow movers.
Marketplaces the way you live them
Record sales when you ship. Reconcile monthly Etsy or Shopify statements so fees, refunds, and tax match your payment account—not a rough fee estimate. Record payouts when cash arrives without counting revenue twice. Channel workflows fit August sales, September deposits.
Books when you need them
Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, Sales Tax Collected, expenses, and exports (CSV/PDF). Accountant handoff and year-over-year growth on Pro when you’re ready for tax time and multi-year trends.
