Any big platform ideas for the future?
Hello, devs of Manic. I was trying to find a 3ds emulator for popular pokemon games such as ultra sun/moon etc when I came across Manic. First time I tried pokemon ultra sun but didn’t have a .cia or .3ds file but rather a zip file so I thought this app doesn’t work. Later however when I learned the supported platforms and formats I tried again and ran ultra sun smoothly. So as my review title says big platform ideas for the future. I was wondering if you guys will ever launch the PS2,PS3 and possibly Switch on Manic. If Manic gets support for the switch it will instantly become one of the most popular or possibly ‘The’ most popular emulator in the world since supporting the switch is something a lot of emulators can’t do. However after looking at why most emulators don’t support the switch I highly doubt if Manic will do it anytime soon. However I believe Manic can improve with supports such as PS2 and PS3. With that said please respond to my review. 5 Stars
Better then the rest with minor issues
Alright so someone’s probably gonna see the detail and ask “why isn’t it 5 stars”…2 reasons. I’ve tried all 3 modes and no matter what mode I choose when I play yo Kai watch or Pokemon x (the roms I currently have installed) it works for the main menu and mostly for cutscenes…BUT in yo Kai watch you exit the house there are 2 very noticeable problems. Both the game and audio start to lag. In Pokemon x the same issue occurs during the moment you try to exit the first area tho not as bad as yo Kai watch…with a few minor tweaks to preformance and audio fixing. This app would definitely earn a 5 star from me. Because the lag and audio issues being fixed would be fantastic…now the reason the title says better than the rest is because with folium and provenance aka A literal paid app and a free one. The lag for either or both audio and gameplay is in cutscenes as well. This app also has the slight issue of when In compatibility mode the audio is displaced. But preformance mode fixes that. And quality mode just straight up crashes the app when you try to load a game…so yes it is better then the rest. But it still has problems that need to be fixed
Way better than folium!
I got this because I seen the pics had 3ds. I didn’t think this would work that well since folium a pay only app didn’t work pretty much at all for the 3 games i tried, but this app actually works and it’s free so that’s a plus. Out of the 3 games i tested for like 5 minutes each only one of them really didn’t have any problems but they did all work unlike folium that didn’t work for any of them.
One of them the touchscreen kept flickering black and making the top screen stuttered but the touchscreen still worked even though it was black if you knew what you were pressing which I really didn’t.
The second one that had a problem of the top screen do a weird stutter go from third person to top down when I would go in fight camera but still playable.
Over all I would say this is still amazing 3ds games still work and it’s free so you won’t lose anything if you’re favorite 3ds game doesn’t work unlike folium and not to mention they have a lot of other emulators on here as well and it’s just so much easier the retroarch that’s just such a maze to figure out. But I’m sure this team will improve on this so I’m very excited to see those problems get fixed!
