Description

Create your original map!

Map Editor is a drawer of illustrated maps.
You can make your original map,,,
to tell your friends of the next BBQ place,
to tell your colleagues the restaurant for welcome and goodbye party,
to tell people of your shop in free market
to tell your fan of your next street live, etc.

Today, sending an URL of map via mail is very easy.
But, drawing your original map may be fun and you can make it
more impressive and more understandable.

Place some streets, railways and rivers on the canvas.
Then place some landmarks on the map.
From the objects panel of Map Editor, you may choose and drag road signs, buildings and other misc illustrations or text labels.

You may paste your own graphic files too. Just drag a graphic file from Finder app or an image displayed on the other apps and drop it over the canvas.

You may easily clip the editing map image to clipboard so that you can paste it on any other apps.
Also, you may export the the map image to common graphic files such as tiff, png, jpeg, bmp and PDF.

Cute but very basic

This app is quite unsophisticated but it is proving adequate for my purposes (although just barely). In writing a series of romance novels set in the fictional town of Barbourville, I need some way to keep up with the layout of the town and county as I write each book. With this app, I'm able to create different maps for different books. For example, I have a map named "Downtown Barbourville" in which I have added and labeled the streets and some of the businesses. There are a very limited number of buildings that can be added to your map (from the "objects" palette) although there are two different Police Stations (not sure what that is about). There are various eating establishments (bakery, donut shop, sweets shop, etc.) but no building that could be used as a clothing store, for example. Other times there are three or four identical objects (and I don't even know what they represent). So don't expect to do any intricate maps with this app. Also, you'll mostly need to learn by trial and error. But it is fun and has limited uses. I'd recommend it if you aren't looking for more than that.

Okay, has potential but not great. Needs improvements...

The foundation of this app is good, it has some good use. However, it lacks road types. Everything's not a two lane road in the world. It'd be nice to differentate between dirt roads and multi-lane highways. I also expected less "cartoonish" objects. It has some useful objects but most are child-like and cartoonish as if its geared for someone throwing a birthday party for their kids vs a real adult using ot for some professional reason. It'd be nice if it had a better selection of roads, objects and so forth.

Please don't take this as a "flame" but as an encouragement to gear this app to a broader audience and make it a bit more useable for those who might want to use it for a businesses.

Not Bad. But needs to be able to open JPEG and PDF

This is an okay program. The problem is that it needs to be able to open existing file formats like JPEG and PDF so that map edits can be made to existing documents.
