Functional, but Room For Growth

Compared to other apps I’ve looked at, Maple has a simpler interface that’s good for adults in roommate situations. Similar apps have a reward system built in, presumably targeted towards families and getting children to do chores.

There’s a small learning curve to the app. I made the mistake of assigning routine chores in the “Events” section rather than the “To-Do” list section.

Something I’m hoping for in the hopefully near and immediate future is that the developers create a way for us to view items on the “To-Do” list in a calendar format, the same way the “Events” section does. It would help with visualizing the pattern of “To-Do” items.

In addition, I think there’s a bug on the current version of the mobile app that prevents me from creating an event that repeats “every x months.” It’s unresponsive when I tap the box where you can edit the x number of months. The week and day repetitions have a similar issue, which could probably be remedied by making the number selection a drop down option instead of typing in the number.

Overall the app is a great idea. I like that you can have different chats for different categories. And I like the combination of To-Do’s and Events. But I definitely think there’s a huge room for growth and a handful of things that can be fixed to make the user experience less buggy and more seamless.

Hi there! Thank you so much for sharing this detailed review. We take all your feedback to heart and we are striving to make improvements every week! I've noted your feedback about the to-dos listed in the calendar and the box for editing the # of months/weeks/days. More improvements to come!

Reminders

I love this application. The only two downfalls I wish would be added in the next update are as follows: I am a mother of four. Two of them only have Apple watches, the other two are toddlers and have different schedules since one is in sports the other is still too young; just turned toddler. This application is great at helping me organize except I cannot add family members to create their own tasks and set reminders because it wants more clientele. Therefore, you must invite someone into your “household” in order to assign tasks. It would make organizing much easier if I could list other family members who do not have a phone. My last dislike of the application is one that I think definitely needs to be revised by the developers. The time reminder is simply a notification ding set at a max and minimum of 10 minutes. Nothing more, nothing less. It makes it almost useless because then I have to go into my clock application to set alarms and label them with what I just labeled and set a reminder in, Maple.

Hi there! Thanks so much for this feedback. I've shared both examples with our product team. We definitely have both feature requests documented on our roadmap. Apologies it's falling short for you in these two ways but I assure you we are working hard behind the scenes to improve Maple for you as quickly as we can! Feel free to reach us at support@growmaple.com if you have more feedback.

It’s better than you think.

It’s fantastic. I’m not having the set-up problems others had in the past. It’s really beautiful and easy. Let’s assure customers who try it the have a way of exporting their precious life if they try your product.

Now to business. I’m really looking forward to using the app thoroughly in the coming weeks. I’m hopeful that the developer will find a way to make it fill my iPad screen. I’m a long time UI tester, and I may be able to continue suggestions, such as the urgency to get Apple Watch integration, and most especially being able to prevent our children from deleting their chores… with a management layer for younger users. i’m going to attempt to send the same communication to support at your organization in the hopes that I will be directly contacted.

I’ll adjust my stars aggressively accordingly
