Open a Markdown file and start writing. Edit visually, switch to source and share a PDF. Free writing has no note limit. Your files stay usable elsewhere. MarkThatDown is a Markdown editor for the Mac that keeps your writing in plain files you own. Write the way that suits the moment. The visual editor shows headings, lists, tables and code the way they will look. The source editor shows the Markdown itself. Split view puts both side by side, and reading view clears everything else away. Your notes are ordinary .md files in a folder you choose. Open a folder you already have, or make a new one. Everything stays readable in any other Markdown app, and nothing is trapped in a database. Rewrite, proofread and summarize privately on eligible Apple Intelligence Macs. - Your own templates, with the date, the title and the cursor where you want them. - Your own keyboard shortcuts for any formatting command. - A tag browser in the sidebar, one click from the notes that use each tag. - Eight colors for the icon in your Dock.
